Vancouver actor and jewelry designer, Susie Wickstead, made her mark in the jewelry world in the winter of 1999 when she began creating sparkly crystal beaded necklaces and hand wrapping elegant crystal bobby pins and hair ornaments. When she received countless compliments and requests for her designs she knew she was on to something! She visited several retail stores to show them her work and, sure enough, the orders came pouring in. Susie decided to start her own jewelry design company, and Indigo Star was born.

In the beginning, Susie created her simple yet sparkly designs using predominantly crystal beads, but her love of silver led her to integrate the precious metal into her craft. She enrolled into silver-smithing courses and learned how to create and manufacture her own sterling silver jewelry, thereby advancing her design innovation. Susie recently began working with 14 karat gold fill, and has added a delightful "Golden Line" of jewelry to her wares.

Today, Susie's popular Indigo Star jewelry line enables her to create a delightful and sought-after line of wearable art; and her love of all things colorful and sparkly is reflected in her work. Each Indigo Star piece is carefully designed and handmade by Susie using sterling silver or 14 karat gold-filled, and genuine Crystallized Swarovski Elements of various shapes and sizes are incorporatedinto her designs… for that colorful sparkle that makes Indigo Star so unique and loved by women of all ages!
